DIY nightstand transformation

Greetings from Connecticut!

Moving into a new place can be SO much fun to decorate, and as you grow into adult hood you also start to realize your style preference changes, and when you start a new relationship you just can't expect your partner to have the same decor style as you...

When we moved into our new place, my boyfriends bedroom furniture was a dark oak, and it was totally not my style. He only had one night stand, because his apt was very tiny. But I just needed to do something with that ugly nightstand, and decided to go with GOLD! He totally doesn't agree with the color...but this is why he is the BEST BOYFRIEND in the world, because he accepted it just because it makes me happy. Gosh, I love him so much!

I think it looks AMAZING. All I did was get the Rustoleum Gold spray paint from Home Depot, just $4. I unscrewed the handles and spray painted those separately. It took about 3 coats of spray paint. ALWAYS, always, always allow at lest a minimum of 25 minute dry time between coats, because you do not want "cracks" "wrinkles" on your nightstand. The only flaw I can complain of is the coating allows for visible fingerprints when being handled. I did not want to add any type of varnish, because it will dull the luster of this gold spray paint, so since there is no protection on this, there are fingerprint marks which can be wiped clean and occasional scratches which can be touched up.

Enjoy! Send me photos if you did the same <3 p="">
